Saracens

Rugby 4 Life

Rugby 4 Life is dedicated to giving primary school-aged children in Hertfordshire, Barnet, and North London a fantastic introduction to rugby, along with a pathway to continue playing through their local grassroots clubs.

Our program kicks off with popular, non-competitive tag rugby festivals hosted by local clubs and officiated by enthusiastic sports leaders from years 9, 10, and 11. These festivals emphasise skill development and game understanding while prioritising fun. Every participant leaves with a smile, a 'Rugby 4 Life' invitation, and an opportunity to attend a pathway session at the club. During these sessions, children will meet coaches, get acquainted with the facilities, and enjoy a lively rugby session run by the club, with support from Saracens Foundation staff.

Inclusive Pathways

  • We aim to offer every child, regardless of their sporting background, an opportunity to engage with rugby and potentially join their local grassroots club. We focus on breaking down barriers and creating lasting connections with the sport.

Sustained engagement

  • During our pathway sessions, local clubs take charge of ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for the children.
  • They offer fun rugby activities and a welcoming introduction to club life, helping young players feel at home.
