Florin's Story

Florin is a participant on the Go Forward Project at Kingsbury High School. Hear his story now.

Go Forward is a multi-faceted project, using mentoring, sport, and enrichment experiences to improve the lives of young people who are vulnerable to permanent exclusion within mainstream education. Working with our host schools, Saracens High School and Kingsbury High School, we support a group of disadvantaged students who have been identified as "at risk of exclusion". Through sport, mentoring and access to positive role models, the schools have already cited the positive impact that an alternate provision has had in helping targeted students.

Each Go Forward participant is provided with a mentor who, through 1:1 mentoring and sport, will invest time and energy into these young people. Go Forward empowers young individuals to develop essential strategies such as anger management and conflict resolution. These strategies equip students with the tools to effectively navigate challenging situations on their own, significantly decreasing the likelihood of classroom removals or exclusions.

Through the Go Forward project, we will change their pathway from permanent exclusion to one of success, self-belief, and opportunities.

If you are interested in introducing the Go Forward project within your school or would like to find out more, please get in touch with Izzy Whiteley at the button below.

REward Trips

Reward trips, such as a recent trip to the 2012 Olympic VeloPark, create opportunities for these young people who have limited opportunities outside of school. By exposing these students to opportunities, their potential and aspirations to achieve are heightened by experiences they may never have had without the Go Forward project.
