Feeding Futures

1 in 10 children are living in food poverty. These children are less likely to meet the recommended physical activity guidelines of 150 minutes a week. Furthermore, the school holidays provide further challenges to families affected by food poverty including isolation, falling behind classmates due to a lack of access to educational experiences and financial challenges with 49% of families on free school means fearing how they will afford to feed their child over the holidays.

Feeding Futures helps tackle this inequality through offering a free holiday activity camp for school pupils aged 8-12, who receive free school meals. Feeding Futures is a multi-day camp during the school holidays. Each camp provides a healthy, balanced meal every day, exciting multi-sport sessions and fun educational workshops where they can learn about topics such as healthy eating or teambuilding, at the same time as socialising with their peers. Camps encourage children to get physically active, whilst fuelled with a nutritious meal, and learning lifelong skills and making new, local friends.
